"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that." ~ Martin Luther King, Jr. Namasté, dear friends: Mike and I were in DC last weekend. We went to celebrate the big, beautiful life of Uncle Jay. The funeral service at Arlington National Cemetery was memorable. The ritual. The solemnity. The grief and the love from all the family and friends present? I'm grateful we were there for it all. We also walked and biked for miles, ate so much good food, re-connected with a college roommate of MIke's, went to museums and visited monuments. It was my first time at the M.L.K. Jr. Memorial; I'm so glad we spent time there. Each quotation engraved into those walls embodies lifetimes of learning. Then, when I found the LOVE garage art near our favorite coffee joint? 🌈 ♥️ Yep, I was definitely finding and feeling the love throughout DC.
