“I have been a seeker and I still am, but I stopped asking the books and the stars. I started listening to the teaching of my soul.” ~ Rumi Hello, friends! I hope your week is moving along nicely. Last week I wrote about the scientific study exploring how difficult it is for many of us to be alone with our own thoughts. If you missed it, or want a quick refresher, you can get caught up here. Today, I want to further the discussion. Years ago a therapist said to me, "Michelle, this is not something you are going to be able to think your way out of." At the time, I struggled to understand what she really meant. To me, it felt like if I could just think through the situation with the right amount of focus, or with the correct amount of intelligence, then things should become clear. These days, I have a better understanding of what that therapist was trying to tell me. As my primary yoga teacher often says, "The mind is a wonderful servant and a terrible master." Let's make sure we don't miss the magic.
